Empowering Parents

to Disrupt Inequities in Education

An organization for parents, by parents.

Atlanta Thrive is a nonprofit organization that empowers parents to disrupt the inequities in education. We believe the most effective solutions come from those directly impacted by the issue. In response, we work to assist parents in understanding the workings of the school system and equip them with the knowledge and skills to support and advocate for their children effectively.

We Take Action.

We provide parents with a range of tools and resources that empower them to support and advocate for their children effectively.

We Don’t Back Down.

We face challenges head-on.
Period.

We Believe in All Kids’ Potential.

We believe every child can learn in their own space and way.

COMMUNITY PETITION:

WE NEED BETTER SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES FOR APS STUDENTS!

We believe that every student, regardless of their abilities, deserves access to a high-quality education that supports their unique needs and empowers them to reach their full potential. Currently, nearly 6,000 students in Atlanta Public Schools have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), yet many are not receiving the level of support they need to thrive academically and socially. Stand with us in demanding local leaders and APS make the changes necessary.

Testimonials

“Kim and her team have assisted me in many ways when it comes to my son. At times I feel like I was being overlooked by APS staff, but once Kim taught me how to advocate I was unstoppable. She showed me how to speak up and make sure my son got all of his needs met.”

-Valencia

“Atlanta Thrive was great to work with! I learned how to read student data(MAP SCORES) and navigate throughout the APS system. Kim shows up for every child as if they were a child of her own. Atlanta Thrive is family oriented and always has open arms for the community. Every time I need them they show up.”
